Still I Rise is a dynamic and innovative leadership development non-profit organization that empowers low-income and underprivileged youth and young adults to create a positive and healthy change in society. The inspiring organization was founded on October 1, 2014 in Illinois, serving the counties of Champaign, Cook, Ford, Iroquois, Kankakee and Will. Still I Rise provides youth and young adults with stimulating programs, events, seminars and engagements, educating them in areas including health, arts, ethics, life skills and entrepreneurship. At Still I Rise, youth and young adults are inspired to take action regarding the most difficult social problems in the community, and gives them the tools they need and a voice to make a positive difference in the global environment.

Tocarra Eldridge - Executive Director

 

Tocarra Eldridge founded Still I Rise non-profit organization in October 2014 and serves as the Executive Director.  She is extremely passionate about giving back to her community, as she also serves on the Neighborhood Master Plan committee. She frequently volunteers her time to several non-profit organizations and community initiatives. Annually, Tocarra volunteers for NBA Hall of Famer, Isiah Thomas’, annual toy drive.

Tocarra holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice and a Master’s in Public Administration.

Tocarra often consults individuals who desire to become established non-profit organization leaders, which lead her to write and release her book ‘How To Start a Non-Profit Organization’ in the spring of 2019.

Tocarra is also a remarkable journalist whom has worked alongside and interviewed a massive amount of prominent individuals and celebrities such as Danny Glover, Jeff Foxworthy, David and Tamela Mann and a host of more.
